Confidentiality
Participants are advised at the outset that subsequent to initial referral requests for possible participants, church organisations or institutions they have been affiliated with will not be advised of the participant’s inclusion in the research or provided with any information that reveal the participant’s identity. Other than having access to the published report findings, the researchers will make no further direct contact with any church organisation or body.
Not only will church organisations not be given information about the persons interviewed but that the final publication itself will ensure anonymity of those who have been interviewed.
Only general details regarding reasons for removal from ministry will be requested from candidates.
No specific details of events will be disclosed as part of the final report.
All information gathered will be stored securely on external hard drives and not online.
Publications
At the conclusion of the research each participant will be given access to a summary of the findings and the online location of the full report.
Participants are advised that in addition to the publication of the research thesis, that the interview information provided may be used for academic and further research purpose, and in the preparation of published documents in the form of articles within peer reviewed journals and presentations at professional conferences.
